Andy joined Mark Knowles on Paradise Island, the first weekend in December, to play in the 11th Annual Mark Knowles Celebrity Tennis Invitational. The event was a huge success, raising $150,000 for local charities.
“Most of us are in our off season, so it’s just fun. I had some in-laws and some friends come down too, so it’s been a great getaway for us. We had some fun too.” Andy said on making his debut appearance at the event.
Joining Andy and Knowles for the pro-am style exhibition were Amer Delic, Jesse Levine, Xavier Malisse and Nicholas Monroe and WTA players Anna-Lena Groenefeld, Vania King, Olga Savchuk and Yasmin Schnack.
Speaking about Andy’s contribution to the weekend, Mark Knowles said,
“It was great to have Andy here. Not only is he one of the best players of his generation but he has established himself as someone who wants to make a difference off the court. He is incredibly philanthropic and dedicated to improving other people’s lives. The Bahamas loved him and looks forward to welcoming him again soon!”
The charities to benefit from the weekend included: The Bahamas Association For The Physically Disabled, Bahamas Environmental Steward Association, Bahamas Special Olympics, Blairwood Academy Disability Scholarships, The Chance Foundation, The Cancer Society For Pediatric Care, The Lyford Cay Foundation, The Sassoon Heart Foundation and The Scout Association Of The Bahamas. Scholarships will also be awarded to promising junior tennis players.

FOX Sports Radio is pleased to announce the addition of Bobby Bones and Andy Roddick to its formidable weekend lineup. Bones, host of the syndicated morning radio program The Bobby Bones Show, and Roddick, Grand-Slam tennis champion, will host a new Saturday afternoon program that will feature a mix of sports, pop culture and entertainment, in addition to interviews with top athletes and other celebrity guests. Originating from Austin, Texas, the program will begin on January 7, 2012 and will air from 1 – 4 p.m. ET/10 a.m. – 1 p.m. PT across the network in top markets including Los Angeles, Houston, Miami and Phoenix.
