Murray cruises past Lacko in opening-round match
NEW YORK (AP)—Fourth seed Andy Murray opened his pursuit of his first Grand Slam title with a straight-sets win over Lukas Lacko of Slovakia in the first round of the U.S. Open on Wednesday.
Murray won 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. He faced just two break points.
Murray reached his first Grand Slam final at Flushing Meadows two years ago, losing to Roger Federer.
The 71st-ranked Lacko was making his U.S. Open debut.
